Some states require all dogs be confined in a moving
vehicle!
We've all seen dogs hanging their
heads out of car windows or riding in the back of pick up trucks.
Dogs that travel that way are at risk of serious injury or even death.
Dust and other airborne debris traveling at the speed of a moving
vehicle can cause serious damage to eyes and ears. Worse dogs
sometimes jump from a window or truck bed. If they are lucky
and land safely, they still may be struck by another vehicle or run away
and become lost. If you are involved in an auto accident, your dog
could run away during the crisis or be thrown from the vehicle.
Many dogs are killed or badly injured this way every year. If you
practice auto safety with your children and ourselves, our dogs deserve
as much. Guardian Gear™ Dog Safety Harnesses protect pets while
traveling in cars. The adjustable web harness attaches easily to
virtually any seat belt with a universal seat belt clip. Helps to
protect you and your pets while traveling in cars. An
adjustable strap keeps dogs safely contained while allowing them to sit,
lie down, or stand comfortably. The harness adjusts at the neck and the
chest for a more secure and comfortable fit. It’s made of strong,
durable woven nylon with plastic quick-release buckles and heavy-duty
hardware. Note: Harness does not work with some Saab and Volvo seat
belts. Requires an adapter from Ford for use with Ford Explorers.
Guardian Gear Dog Safety Harnesses are available in the colors and sizes
listed below. For proper fit, measure the girth around the broadest part
of the dog’s chest.
*Never let your dog ride in the front seat of a vehicle
with air bags. Dogs, like small children, can be killed or injured
by deploying air bags.
Caution: Do not leave
pets unattended in vehicles. In only a few minutes,
the temperature in a closed car can rise high enough to kill
your dog or cause permanent damage, even with the windows
partially open.

Pet Vehicle Safety Harness

 This
well made pet vehicle safety harness is designed with your pet's safety
and comfort in mind, allows pets to sit or lay down on vehicle seat
while safely secured to vehicle seat belt. You can also use vest
as a walking harness by attaching leash to the D-ring on back of
harness, the safety strap detaches and may be left in vehicle.
Straps are adjustable on fully-padded, fleece-lines safety vest for the
perfect fit! Fleece is cool in summer and warm in colder months.
The adjustable safety strap has a swivel clasp and is made from a
special material that is strength-rated, but provides a slight amount of
stretch to absorb shock in the case of a sudden stop. A unique
leash design integrates with the vehicle's seat belt tensioning device,
thus providing range of motion while traveling, but in the case of a
sudden stop it locks in place to keep pets secure. This design
also makes it easy to load and unload your pet, and installs easily in
ALL vehicles. Use of a vehicle safety harness also improves safety
by reducing potential distractions for the driver. Available in 4 sizes.
Small fits dogs: 6-25 lbs, Medium fits dogs: 20-55 lbs, Large fits dogs:
45-85 lbs, X-Large fits dogs: 60-120 lbs.
